On Wednesday evening, April 22, 2015, AVR hosted its annual Candlelight Vigil & Awards Ceremony and wow what a success it was! This year, we had 28-year-old Jonathan Lowery share his story 'Victim as a Native American Youth', after his father and uncle were murdered in 1993. Thank you, Jonathan, for your bravery in sharing your story with the community. AVR would like to thank everyone for their support and assistance in putting this event together. It is remarkable to be able to bring recognition to the individuals who assist crime victims and also facilitate healing for those that have been affected. THANK YOU ALL!
UPCOMING EVENT: The Holly Quick Memorial event will be held on June 17, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. at the Holly Quick Memorial Garden at the Sparks Marina. The garden was constructed in 2009 and is a place for peace and remembrance for those who have been affected by violent crime.
